I love mountains, I cannot express how much I do. The alps are just awesome. I know we have mountains in Scotland but as I always say you have to travel miles to get there, then walk miles to get to the base and climb to get decent views and vantage points. Whereas in Austria, they are there – in your face – and they have wonderful things called cable cars or chair lifts to take you to the views and vantage points. Much more civilised.
I might love mountains but I have no great desire to climb them or walk very far along them. I like looking at them, photographing them and painting them.
